If you are new to the Panerai community you have probably heard the word Pre-Vendome and Vendome and wondered what they meant. The list below has the models that Panerai made and sold around from around 1993 to the time that Vendome group purchased Panerai around 1997.The PAM 5218-201/A is the so-called 'Pre-Vendome' logo model. Although a tough sell when available from new, it has risen to be one of the holy grails for many Panerai collectors. It is estimated that a little under 700 were produced in this configuration, with an additional 200 being reworked into Slytech models. The "Pre-Vendôme" watches ranged in size between 42mm and 44mm and primarily featured the classic trademark design "Luminor" case which is distinguished by the half-crescent shaped crown guard.
