I've only had the watch a few months and can't say I've actually noticed until the other night when I happen to catch it. When you set the date, the minute hand stays where it is, and the hour hand moves in one hour increments/jumps forwards and backwards. Watch will keep ticking. To set the date, just move the hour hand in its one hour jumps until it .
